Whenever I have had a free day or two, I have thrown in a couple more projects.
I quilted another memory quilt for a customer (the third memory quilt for her, but the fifth quilt in a month).
Again, she asked that I stitch in a chartreuse dragon fly to represent the family member that they have lost. It was his favorite color AND since he has been gone, they have noticed numerous dragonflies everywhere.
So, I meandered/stippled the whole quilt around that one dragonfly.
On the home front, I picked up some acrylic yarn to make my grandson a new hat for the winter months.
His new winter coat is olive with orange accents. So, what better pattern to make than a dragon hat in olive with orange spikes.
This pattern is called Dinomite and can be found on Ravelry.
The body of the hat took no time at all.
Then there are 8 spines/spikes that will go along the top edge of the hat. (I am eliminating the tail).
Had enough yarn to make another one, so now the two youngest grands will have dinosaur hats
Can't wait to see them wearing these. I think they will like it.
No there is NO yarn left over.
Then somewhere between doing these projects I had all the carpet and upholstery in the house cleaned.
Mind you.....that meant the sewing room was included in having to be cleared out so they could get in there to clean.
On putting things back, I wanted to be more organized. I finished a knit project that had been sitting around just waiting for me to sew the pieces together. OMG.....this thing is decades old.
It's called the "big poncho sweater". I didn't even have the pattern anymore, but all I had to do was sew the shoulders, partial side seams and the cowl neck together. I'm feeling good about it. I no longer have to look at this unfinished project anymore.
Now it's time to decorate the house for Christmas. So when that is done, there are plenty of other projects that I would rather be doing. Stay tuned. I hope to have a few things to show before the holidays.
Happy sewing everyone!
