Something old and something new.......

In what little spare time I have had lately I picked up a sweater that I had set aside because of other pressing things that needed doing and finally got it finished.  It is being wet  blocked here.

I am so happy that I will be able to wear it when the weather changes.

It fits so well, too, without any changes to the pattern.

There was some online purchases made to subsidize the black and whites that I bought at the AQS show recently.

Now it is time to start thinking or doing something about all the black/white and white/grays that I have collected this summer.  I have ideas.

The girls and I have delved into the "charity room" getting ideas of what we want to do with some of this fabric.  We went through all the kits that moved on over with all this fabric and we added backings, bindings and batting.  They are ready to go.  We each took a couple kits to add from our own stashes and/or to just make a kit or two to get the new year of charity quilts going.

Trying to figure out a layout for these blocks.

They will most likely be sashed in some brights and the Disney fabric will be the backing.

Here's one of our  quilt decisions.  This will be a simple "fish" kit.

There's another one with the same pattern  in bright red with big tennis shoes all over it.  Some little boy is going to love it.

I pulled some fabrics and came up with a  quilt top that I will show at the first meeting.  It will be a new pattern that we are using and I wanted to show them how great a simple pattern can look.

Just need to find a backing for it and get it quilted before next week.

Ideas are running rampant in our heads which I think is a good thing since we have to keep coming up with new ideas all the  time and keep those kits coming.  Something new and refreshing to keep everyone's interest going when it comes to making charity quilts is a good thing.

  1. You have redefined “Busy Lady” ! - My goodness that is a lovely sweater - you look like one of the models in the WEBs yarn catalog. Looks like your committee is off and running too - those smiley face little bugs are going to make someone’s day when cuddling with their quilt.
