I thought I had only so many quilts left in the "to-be-quilted" pile and lo and behold, there is one on my design wall that was just one 3" square shy of being done. Well, I ran to the quilt shop to pick up some binding fabric for some of the quilts that I have been getting quilted and I finally picked up what I needed for that 3" square.
Today, I put it on the long arm.
I am going to call this toddler quilt "Taking Flight".
What with all the airplanes, I had two pantos that I thought would work well. One was "Turbulence" (that one made me giggle) and the other one was "Time Warp" which is the theme of a new TV show coming up soon. (An airliner full of people shows up on the tarmac, but it has been missing for five years from the makers of Lost).
Anyways, I decided to go with Time Warp since I have been wanting to try this panto and I just love the texture it produced on this quilt. I used a light blue So-Fine thread top and bobbin on this one.
A real plus for this quilt is that it is two-sided.
The back consists of gauges and a cockpit flight panel that any little kid who loves airplanes could pretend that they are the pilot.
A red binding is all cut out and waiting; but I am going to try and get to the rest of that "to-be-quilted" pile while I am on a roll; but I am not counting anymore since I'm never right anyways. When the pile is gone, then I know I am done. Then.....I will be going on a binding binge. I do love binding a quilt, but doing too many in a row might just cure that.
Oh wow! - my husband would love that quilt too being a former pilot!! And the design element created by your panto choice is perfect...looks great. We were all such fans of Lost when that series ran though I often found it very confusing in storylines. Will be interested to see how Time Warp plays out...
