one million down

.....well, maybe not quite a million.

......actually not a million at all, but it sure seemed like a million

I finally got ALL of my half square triangles trimmed.  That mess in the corner is just from a few of the blue pile.  I have always disliked making half square triangles until I found the "Quilt in a Day" ruler that makes 8 at once which is great, but then there is all that trimming to make them perfect.  Arghhh.

They are all pressed open now.

One more step before I can start sewing them together.  I have to snip off all those little rabbit ears.  I will save that for another night.

Then I can start making rows of these.

For now....I am going to try and go to bed amongst all the explosions outside while everyone enjoys their fireworks.  It's back to work tomorrow.

Happy Fourth of July!!!!

  2. You have been busy! But that border is going to look fantastic - must try one of those ribbon borders myself though I don't have the special ruler you were writing about.

  3. Triming down makes for perfect squares which makes the quilts go together soooo much easier and lay FLAT. It is worth the insurance of triming down.

  4. It does seem like more than a million doesn't it? Doing a Delectable Mountains right now - and it is a Fons & Porter design with odd measurements in the HST's so no real short cuts other than cutting strips and then subcutting again. We do it though because we love it, right??!!
